About Maisonlip.

What is Maisonlip?
Maisonlip is a free, in-browser virtual lipstick try-on. You open it on your phone, grant camera access, and see a lipstick color applied to your own lips in real time. You can pick from a curated palette, drag a custom color, or snap a photo of a lipstick you already own and have Maisonlip match its color.
How does it work?
Your camera feed is read by your browser. An on-device face-landmark model (Google's MediaPipe, running in WebAssembly) finds the shape of your lips on each frame. A Canvas layer paints the chosen color inside that shape with a soft feathered edge. Matte uses a flat multiply blend; gloss adds a screened highlight.
The whole pipeline — camera, detection, compositing, rendering — runs in your browser. There is no server that touches your face.
Why does this exist?
The major virtual try-on products (ModiFace, Sephora Virtual Artist, YouCam Makeup, Perfect Corp) are powerful, but they lock users into one brand's catalog, require accounts, serve ads, or — in at least three documented US class-action settlements — collected facial biometric data without proper consent.
Maisonlip is a smaller alternative that does one thing well: lipstick, on any face, in any browser, without an account, without ads, and without ever handing a picture of you to anyone.
Which shades are included?
Thirty-six curated shades spanning six color families — red, pink, nude, berry, coral, and brown — each in matte or gloss. You can also enter any hex code directly, or upload a photo of a real lipstick and Maisonlip will extract its dominant color for you.
Who made Maisonlip?
An independent side project. For questions, feedback, or reports of a shade that does not render well on your skin tone, write to hello@maisonlip.com. Replies usually within two days.
